I am so thrilled to share this project with you! Many of you have seen my painted pantry doors on Pinterest, or featured on other blogs. The other day, someone asked me if I was planning on painting the kitchen or the wall that my doors are on. I have never been interested in painting the kitchen because of all the odd spaces; but, I have been well-aware that my kitchen could use a little spice. {Wow…sorry about that one.}
Enter: 163 Design Company. I have known about this site for some time now, but it just hit me a while ago that a custom sign could be just the thing to spruce up the empty wall in my kitchen. Now is the time for me to rave about the amazing customer service I got while scheming up this art {and they’re not paying or perking me for this…they’re just that good}. I heard back within 24 hours about my request, and they were so great about letting me choose the saying, and font, and they were incredibly quick! I’m already planning my next piece for them to make, and it’s going to be epic!
Any-who…back to the kitchen.
Originally, I tried to come up with something funny and witty. Unfortunately, that’s just not my forte. Instead, I decided to go with a positive saying that would make sense in the kitchen. That’s how ‘When Life Gives You Lemons…” was born.
*Sidenote: I got my apothecary jar for $12 at TJ Maxx!!! Best buy in a long time.
Once my letters arrived, I struggled with which color to paint them so as not to take away from my painted doors. Oil rubbed bronze was my color of choice, and it thrills me how well it matches my kitchen cabinets! As you can see, ‘Lemons’ was painted in yellow. Lemon Trees by Dutch Boy to be exact. The ORB really makes a statement on the stark wall, while the yellow adds a pinch of cheeriness.
What do you guys think? I have been dying to share this with you, and I hope you love it!
