Many of you got a chance to view my electrical spool-turned-table. I put it in my craft room/office with the expectation that I could get a nice looking chair in there to create a reading nook. As of yet, I haven’t found a chair that fits my vision for the space. Fortunately, there was a chair that came with my school desk which has been sitting in the garage just waiting for a makeover.
My chair was originally covered in the same chippy finish that the desk had, so it required a good sanding before paint was applied. To start, I painted the whole chair with two coats of this mint color.
I’ve been really into the dip-dyed look lately, so I opted for a pop of color and some interest. On each leg I chose a random spot to place some frog tape, while trying to give it a true dipped look. On the legs, under the tape lines, I brushed on two coats of “Lemon Tree” by Dutch Boy.
The dipped look of this chair, especially in contrast with the rustic spool table, thrills me. I find it so exciting to be able to create a space that I find inspiring.
Even my little man approves!

You’re right! And funny thing- I have a similar paint in a slightly real shade that I’m still thinking about instead of the grey! Cute blog!
