Thanks for checking out Homemaker Monday!
I am really excited to share this project with you today. Febreze is one of my all-time favorite “cleaning” products…I cannot lie. I have heard of people saying they spray pledge by the front door before company comes over so it smells clean & fresh; well, I do that with Febreze. Except I spray the whole house :-)
Because I love Febreze so much, I tend to go through a LOT of it in a very small amount of time. This is not a cheap product for me to love {you know what I’m talking about…}. But now I make my own, and I want to teach you how!
What You Need:
An Old Febreze Bottle {or other 32 oz. spray bottle}
Tap Water
Your Favorite Liquid Fabric Softener {I use Downy}
Remove the lid of your spray bottle and pour a cap-full {or more} of your fabric softener in. Often times I will add 1 1/2 caps to really bring out the scent…but if you want something more subtle, 1 cap should do you well.
Fill the rest of the bottle with warm tap water.
Shake and you’re good-to-go!
How easy is that?! It has seriously been a life saver for me. I go through easily a bottle of this stuff per week because it smells so wonderful and I don’t have to worry about the cost anymore.
Next, I plan on trying it with some Purex Crystals – those are my new obsession and I think they might work if I can get the water warm enough to dissolve them…I’ll let you know what happens!
P.S. – I got a huge jug of Downy on clearance at Target this week for $8! So keep an eye out for it when you’re shopping.
Purchase Downy on amazon.com
Great idea, I just did it and love it, Thanks. :)
Glad you like it!
Impressive publish! STICK WITH IT!
This is genius! I am going to make some for sure. I love Febreze, but it can get pricey. Thanks for the tutorial! Can’t wait to see what else is in store on this lovely blog of yours :)
It is my favorite DIY ‘cleaning’ supply – I hope you enjoy! And thank you so much…I have a lot of plans :-)
Great idea! Can’t wait to try it! =) Thanks for sharing at the Pomp Party! Pinning to our Pomp Party board!
I cannot wait to try this! I’ve been meaning to pick up more Febreeze as it is! Thank you!
Add 2 tsp of baking soda to this mix and it gets rid of pet odor and that of a teenage son lol!
Haha! I don’t have either of those (yet), so thanks for the tip!
