Start out by cutting approximately 2″ off the top of your folders so the tabs are cut off.
Next, open each folder, and cut another 2″ or so off the front.
You’ll end up with little “envelopes” like these.
For this next part, I attempted to use a black ink pad, but it just wasn’t working right; I switched to Martha Stewart Craft Paint and it was adorable! Open up each envelope and stamp the front with your words. This stamp I found is great because, while it does have Halloween words on it, most of them are more harvest-inspired. Plus, two-year-olds can’t read…so I’m probably good to bring these to school.
Once the paint dries you can hot glue up the sides of each envelope to seal it. Then, make bows with your ribbon and attach it to the top of the front portion. Add a sticker and you’re ready to stuff with candy! If you’re sending these to school, it might be fun to add a little note to the top flap saying something like “I think you’re spook-tacular! From: ___”.
These are perfect for bringing to your kids’ classroom, but they’re also cute for co-workers, or {if you’re really ambitious} the neighborhood trick-or-treaters!
I have been storing them in a little bucket by the front door for any unexpected visitors to take home!
My problem has been keeping little man and the husband away so I have enough to give to other people!!!
Adorable!
Wow! These are so cute, and my hat’s off to you for taking the time to do this! At first I thought you were doing them for all the trick or treaters, and I was getting ready to bow down and say *I’m not worthy*, but I see you’re keeping it real and limiting the amount you’re making ;).
So cute! These would be great for my son’s Halloween party at day care! Thanks for sharing at the Pomp Party! Hope to see you back next week!
I think these are adorable, and I love that they’re festive without being scary or gross…we stay away from that stuff around here too. If you haven’t already, I’d be so thrilled for you to share this idea at my party, going on now:
