I have been trying to plan for little man’s Halloween costume for quite some time now. There are just SO many adorable ideas on Pinterest! With my sewing machine broken, I have been going back-and-forth with myself on whether or not I should just purchase a costume this year. But, I just couldn’t bring myself to pay so much money for a cheap costume. So I decided to make an affordable no-sew costume!
Both the costume & little man are both just adorable. Great idea!
Thanks! He LOVES his costume…I can’t believe I have been able to get him to take it off!
Little man looks adorable in his shark suit. Great idea. Very creative.

Darn! Wish I would have seen this before. I got the shark costume from Old Navy, but my son is unhappy with the feet on it and how the belly has extra padding. Your costume wouldn’t have had those problems AND it would have been cheaper!
Your little shark is adorable! I made a shark costume this year too for my little guy and I think w used the same sweatsuit. LOL!!! Come look :http://athomewithsweett.blogspot.com/2012/10/baby-shark-dut-do-dut-dut.html
Great minds think alike!!!
Oh, we love the shark tank at the Indy zoo too. I could stand there forever waiting for a sharks to swim by.

That is AWESOME! I just can’t wait for little man to actually be able to reach the sharks on his own…he’s not quite tall enough yet!
OHHHHHHHHH my gosh this is way too cute! I want one for myself :) I can’t even tell you how much I love this. I’m SO featuring this next week! In addition to party features, I’m going to do another post for Halloween costume features from the party. And this one must be added to it! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thanks so much for sharing at Throwback Thursday :)
Your costume turned out so great! I love it, and love even more that it’s no sew! I never would have guessed.

This is so cute! I love simple inexpensive costumes! Great job and thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I just couldn’t make myself buy a $40+ costume that he’s going to wear once!
This is so stinkin cute! Love that it is no sew, great job.
This is such a wonderful project. I too have a shark-obsessed little guy, and not only will this make a great costume for a party we’re going to, but he can wear it all the time (until it no longer fits and I have to make another!)
Thank you so much for this!! My kiddo is in a school program about sea critters and she wants to be a shark. This mommy has zero crafting skills & I was freaking out about how to do it! This looks so simple to do and so cute!! Again, thank you!
I’m glad you found it then! :-) I’d love to see photos of how it turns out for you! atkinsondrive {at} yahoo {dot} com
Love it! we’re doing a shark costume this year and I love how simple this is, I think i’ll have to try it. Thanks for sharing
So cute. I am attempting a homemade halloween costume this year too (astronaut). No-sew also. Eek. I’d love it if you shared it on our linkup party this week! http://www.mylifeoftravelsandadventures.com/2013/10/trick-or-treat-thursday-party.html
Very cute! I think he can wear the sweatshirt all year long too. I see batman sweatshirts everywhere, so why not a cute shark?

This is adorable! I love it!
I don’t have a sewing machine, so I’m looking forward to following your instructions and adapting it for my daughter’s Yoshi costume this year (i.e. will invert the shark fin and put it at the bottom of the shirt for a tail). Thank you so much – your costume and pictures are awesome! :)
I’d love to see it – sounds adorable!
OMG, that is just adorable and the little boy just makes the pictures! :) Featuring you this week at Show Stopper Saturdays!

Thanks for this. I just made this costume for my nearly 7 year old son and he loves it. Cost for materials was ~£15 and it took me around 2.5 hours to make the costume. This is without relevant previous experience.
How did you make the fin stay up?
It just stayed up on it’s own, but you could use fabric stiffener
Great article! The design of these costumes is beautiful. Thanks for sharing this blog. I provide for by my given business to sale this product online.wholesale Clothing
