If you saw my last post, you’ll notice that I have tacos on the brain lately! So, when I was trying to come up with a fun and unique teacher gift for the end of the year … naturally tacos came up. My mom has been a school teacher since I can remember and I feel like I have a good handle on gifts that teachers really appreciate. This one involves fun printable and gift cards: taco’bout a great teacher gift!
My son has had an incredible 2nd grade teacher this past year. All of the children love her; she’s a ton of fun to be around (for the kids and parents); and she’s gone above and beyond to help him excel. In my book she deserves more than the standard teacher mug and apple. This teacher gift was a struggle for me because not only was it hard to say goodbye, but we’ve been pretty busy with the expectations of homeschooling next year. The end of this year really crept up on me!
Each year the teachers at my son’s school fill out a “What I Like” survey. The room moms hand these out to parents to help us with birthdays, Christmas, teacher appreciation, and the end of the year. It’s been a huge! For teacher appreciation I did a big basket of goodies, and I wanted to make sure not to duplicate anything which made this task even harder. Then I remembered that one of my son’s teacher’s favorite places to eat is a local taco joint. Lucky for me it’s right down the street from our house, so I sent my husband to pick up some gift cards!
If you know me at all, you know that I couldn’t just give our favorite teacher a gift card in a generic card and call it a day. So I made this cute “Taco’Bout a Great Year” printable card to tape to the front of a small envelope. I obviously had to share this printable with you … click on the page image below to print your own.
Of course you don’t have to give your teacher a gift card. You could give her all the fixings for a yummy taco bar. Maybe some chips, salsa, guac, and queso. Or if you really love her, you could give a small gift card and a make your own margarita mix! That’s my kind of gift. There are really so many options to make this a fun way to say thanks!
