This is part of the Family Dinner Night series … check out all of the recipes here.
I must admit that I’ve been a little frazzled lately. With 3-Day Preschool starting, running a small business, and keeping up with my household, dinner has migrated to very low on the priority list. But I can’t stop thinking about that, and how terrible it is; not only for our health, but for our family. There are tons of studies that show how great it is for kids to have a steady sit-down meal time with their parents.
So I have decided that I am fed-up. I am taking back family dinner night!
My goal is to focus on whipping up a well-rounded meal at least once a week for the family. I’ll make a sit-down dinner priority for me and my children. I’m relying on you guys to help keep me accountable … so each week I’ll share one of my family’s favorite recipes with you guys.
To get us started, here are a few of my very favorite recipes from the past:
and here’s a Pin board to get those gears turning …
So, I hope you’ll join me in my quest to reinvent the traditional family sit-down dinner!

Good for you! My go-to when I’m so busy my head is popping off (which is most days with working full-time, plus trying to exercise and my book revisions) is my crockpot. It seriously saves lives. I’ll prep the night before and then set the whole crockpot in the fridge until the next morning (unless it involves a grain because you can’t soak those), I set it out and turn on the pot! Let me know if you need any help or suggestions for slow cooker recipes. I have a whole pinterest board dedicated to just my slow cooker, though admittedly, I haven’t done all of them yet. But let me know if you want recommendations <3
Thanks! That’s usually a great go-to for me … except when it ends up being 4 PM and I haven’t started anything yet (haha)!
Heck, yes, I’m in! I found your blog from a comment you left on Life in Grace, and I’m so glad I did! I’m recently back to the world of full-time employment and dinner prep is a challenge. Thanks for sharing your recipes! Here’s my Pinterest board of crockpot recipes, if you’d like to check them out: http://www.pinterest.com/bunkie68/food-crockpot-cooking/
I’m glad you found me and I hope you enjoy the recipes! :-)
