Apple Cider Vinegar is such a versatile product. For me, it’s a must-have in my pantry … AND in my health and beauty arsenal. Great for adding zing to potato salad? Check. Perfect to boost your immune system? Check. PH balance for your skin? Check. But REALLY what are all the benefits you can glean from one little bottle of vinegar? Let’s discuss …

BEAUTY BENEFITS
Struggling with blackheads? Dealing with dandruff? Unbalanced skin? ACV is fermented with helpful bacteria. That makes it absolutely incredible for your skin (including your scalp). It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, and functions as a chemical exfoliator. Why is it so great? Because it cleanses without stripping your skin of its natural oils … so your face and scalp won’t become overly dry. The key to using ACV on your skin is to dilute it with filtered water. Generally 1 part ACV to 2 or 3 parts water is a good rule of thumb. This goes when using it as a facial toner, or as a scalp rinse.
HAIR BENEFITS
Did you know that most hair that is dull and frizzy is alkaline? Meaning it’s higher on the pH scale. Because ACV is acidic, using it as a hair treatment can help bring everything back into balance. Because ACV has known antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, it can also help with controlling bacteria or fungi that cause itchiness, and underlying causes of dandruff. For most people, an ACV rinse after showering can do wonders for your hair. 3 Tbsp. to 16 oz. water should be potent enough for most uses. Incorporating ACV cleansing products into your routine two to three times each month is another great way to stay on top of that really good clean!
HEALTH BENEFITS
A favorite way of mine to use Apple Cider Vinegar is in an ACV tea. Y’all it sounds gross, but is so good. It’s hot water with a splash of ACV (I usually use 1 Tbsp. per cup of water), and a drizzle of honey. My kiddos however, love ACV gummies! Not only is Apple Cider Vinegar great for your internal functions, it has so many good nutrients: iron, magnesium, amino acids, antioxidants, etc.
A few proposed benefits to ingesting Apple Cider Vinegar? Weight loss, blood sugar regulation, lowering blood pressure, elevating good and lowering bad cholesterol, improving digestion, boosting immune system function, and more. Kind of sounds like something you should always have on hand huh?
DISCLAIMER
I am not a doctor, and most of these remedies are not “proven” in a medical setting. Isn’t that how all useful “wive’s tales” have come to be? Things that your grandmother and mother passed on to you because it WORKS? All that to say, listen to your body. Do your research. Be wise. Use a high-quality, organic ACV with the “mother.” And drop some of your favorite ACV uses in the comments to share with the rest of us!
