Since starting school, little man has been a little more restless at home than normal. He really just wants to get up and go! So I have found myself coming up with more crafts and activities for us to do. Since Halloween is approaching, I thought it would be fun to make a cute holiday-appropriate piece of art. This is also an adorable way to memorialize your little one’s hand & foot prints.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Black Construction Paper
White Crayon
White Paint
Paint Brush
We started out with the X-Ray Hands. Little man enjoyed making the leaves for his hand-print paper plate pumpkin so much that I thought he would like to do some more hand-painting. First, trace your little one’s hands with the white crayon, making sure to leave enough room to make a hand-print later on.
Next, paint the palms of both hands with the white paint and make a print inside the traced hands. I found that it was easiest to do one hand at a time and wipe with a wet cloth right after. The craft paint we used dried REALLY fast, so keep that in mind if you’re using the same.
My little man was sad when we were done with his hand-prints, so I thought it would be super fun to make ghosts out of his foot-prints.
He went wild for this idea!
I let him sit on the table while I painted the bottoms of his feet. Once they were painted, I stood him up on his piece of paper {on the table}! I haven’t seen him so excited for a project in a LONG time!!!
*gah* I just LOVE little feet…!
Once the paint was dry, I drew ghost faces onto the heels of his prints. We hung these up on the fridge, and he shows everyone that walks in the door! We even had to call Daddy & Grammy afterwards to tell them all about our awesome ghost feet.
This is a simple project, but he was so excited about it; and I will keep these little 2-year-old prints forever!
