When we went on our amazing IKEA trip in June I found a great roll of drawer-liner paper. Seriously, IKEA has everything – I LOVE it! Anyway…I’ve been having a hard time with a few of our kitchen drawers. You know the ones…they hold everything except the kitchen sink. Obviously I had to get some liner rolls to test it out!
It’s a really cool material; the top has little bumps all over to help hold your stuff in place, and the bottom doesn’t have anything sticky on it. I don’t know if it’s the renter inside of me, but I am obsessed with things that make your life easier, but don’t ruin stick to your stuff. I suppose the drawback to this liner not having a sticky backing is that it can be a bit of a challenge to get it to stay down. Though, I have found once there’s items weighing it down it stays just fine.
These are some before pictures of my poor drawers. They needed a lot of help! Maybe it would do me well to just get rid of a few things…
I would suggest using a ruler or tape measure to find out how much you need, draw a line down the back of the liner and THEN cut.
I didn’t do that…
All of our measuring tools were missing while I was doing this project and I sure wasn’t planning on waiting to find them to finish my project. So I took little man’s felt play ruler that we purchased at IKEA and I used the dots to guide my cutting. My measurements were way off. I definitely do NOT recommend going this route.
But look at these beautiful after pictures. Seriously it is a joy to open these drawers every day.
I am telling you, not one thing has slid around since installing this liner.
If you live close to an IKEA {or even if you don’t} I would suggest you run over there right now and get some of this stuff. Your kitchen will thank you!
This is brilliant! I have a drawer full of kitchen tools that are in desperate need of some TLC (including eliminating the rolly-ness factor). I’ll have to try some of this stuff when I go to IKEA next!
