So before I give you this decadently delicious recipe, I have to tell you the story behind it! While I was in high school I worked on the sales floor at the local Target. Almost every lunch break one could find me at our Starbucks store coming up with fun new drinks to try with the baristas. My favorite by far, and one that I was completely addicted to for at least a summer, was the Peanut Butter Cup Frappuccino! It sort of became a ‘thing’ at our store, so much so that I almost sent the idea in to corporate. But, alas, I never did so you won’t be finding this at your local Starbucks anytime soon. Luckily, thanks to the www you can now make this yummy treat in the comfort of your own kitchen.
Ingredients:
8 oz. brewed coffee
1/2 c. creamer
1/2 c. chocolate syrup
1 c. peanut butter
1 t. vanilla
Ice
1. The first step is to brew your FAVORITE coffee. I used my Keurig on the medium size setting. Pour your piping-hot brew into the blender.
2. Next, add your coffee creamer. I used Coffee-Mate Original, but I’m sure using regular cream or half-and-half would work just as well.
3. Now comes the most important part: the chocolate syrup and peanut butter! {I have also been known to throw a few peanut butter cups in the mix…but keep that between us!} Add the vanilla and ice.
*Note: If you are a chocoholic really love chocolate you might want to add a few scoops of powdered hot chocolate mix to the blender.
4. Blend until smooth & creamy, pour into your favorite glass, and enjoy! {Add some whipped cream if your heart so desires}.
And there you have it! My favorite milkshake-esque blended coffee drink!
