I have missed you guys! Sorry it has been so long since I’ve posted…life has been crazy around these parts. The whole family was sick for a while, and we’ve had a ton of visitors recently. But, I am working on some great posts, and exciting new surprises for you guys!
Somehow in all the recent craziness, our fridge developed what you could call…a stench. The husband tried to clean it out one day but the smell just wouldn’t go away! I can’t even describe it – but, trust me, it wasn’t pleasant. It got to a point where I didn’t even want to open the fridge anymore. It was terrible! So, I took matters into my own hands and came up with an affordable and easy-to-make fridge freshener.
All you need is baking soda and your favorite essential oil fragrance. Take 2-3 Tbsp. of your baking soda and mix in 8-10 drops of scented oil (I used lemon). Leave in an open container on a fridge shelf overnight. I couldn’t believe how well – and quickly – this worked. Our fridge had a fresh and slightly lemony scent…no stank anymore! I’m going to continue using this freshener once a month to help keep everything smelling nice.
Hopped over from Your Whims Wednesday link party. This is a great idea and I have lots of essential oils I could use — wild orange, lemon, geranium, possibilities are endless.

I just leave a small open container in my fridge. I occasionally shake it to break up the clumps and I change it out when the fridge starts to stink again. I’ll have to try putting some oils in it though. Stopping by from One Artsy Mama.
I use baking soda in my fridge too…I actually use baking soda to clean most things! It really is a miracle product.
If you have a minute to spare I’d be thrilled if you could link this post up to my weekly Say G’Day Linky party which has just started. This would be a great addition!
Best wishes,
