For years I have loved using essential oils for all sorts of DIY projects. But as I’ve gotten busy with my business, I have fallen away a bit. Recently I have found my way back to my oily roots … and it is the best! However, My growing collection has been desperately in need of organization; while at Target the other day inspiration for this DIY oil shelf hit and I just had to share it with you!
There are a bunch of fun school items in Bullsey’s Playground this season. That is where I saw this little bright orange wall hanging just waiting to be made into an oil shelf. (Visit my Instagram page to see the before). It had the shape of some big oil storage units I’ve seen … with a much more affordable price.
As usual, I always have some spray paint lying around from other projects; and I opted to transform this piece with the same off-white paint from my rustic side tables. It only took a few light coats over the space of an hour or so to cover the orange. That evening it was ready to hang.
Of course, I had to organize the oils by rainbow order! I keep the shelf in my laundry room (close to my downstairs diffuser) along with our family calendar and chores list. As you can see – my collection is about to outgrow this tiny shelf, though. Luckily, the smaller Young Living bottles do fit the shelf laying down. I plan on posting an update in a few months to show y’all the difference and how that works.
