I’m sure you’ve noticed my excitement over the last few weeks about the new addition to our family {my niece}! And I bet you also caught onto the fact that it was my job to throw her Sip and See / Welcome to the Family party. Well, it was yesterday {August 5} and I think it was awesome…if I do say so myself.
I must apologize in advance for the quality of my photos…I only had my phone to take pictures and it wasn’t happy with me apparently. Regardless, I am really excited to share this party with you guys! It’s my first ‘big’ event that I’ve gotten to throw – other than my wedding which doesn’t really count. Please enjoy and feel free to leave comments!
The party theme was Pink Safari; the focus was on elephants for the printables, and zebra print for accessories.
Welcome Table
The welcome table was right by the door and had the guest book as well as adoption announcements for the guests to take on their way out. An ‘Isabelle Jean’ banner hung on the front of the table and my tulle poufs covered the table-top.
“Sign the guestbook and give Trevor & Kayla your best parenting advice.”
The guestbook was actually a scrapbook – that way mommy & daddy can pick their favorite party photos and have an all-in-one party memory book.
“Thanks for coming! Please take an announcement on your way out.”
Since this was an adoption party, I made some adoption announcements for everyone to take home {as well as a few extra for mommy & daddy to mail out} – they included her birth date and adoption date.

Photo Booth
The photo booth was so much fun, and Anita with Third Sky Photography did an amazing job on the pictures! Check back within the next few weeks for more pictures, and details on the photo booth set-up.
The hubs and little man are cheeses…
Kids Coloring Table
Since I knew there would be children at the party, I set-up a special kids table with glow-in-the-dark bracelets and a coloring station. I think the adults enjoyed it more than the kids did…
{please excuse the wonky ‘kids’ banner}
Custom coloring pages of the honored guest!
Popcorn Bar
We kept the food really simple with a popcorn bar!
“Not flesh of our flesh, nor bone of our bone, but given by God to be our very own!”
Printed paper bags to match our party theme. {Tutorial coming soon}!
“Snatch a paper bag. Scoop in some popcorn. Spritz on some butter. Sprinkle in seasonings & salt. Shake it all together.”
I found the popcorn seasonings at our local Meijer, but you can order them online from Kernel Seasons. They’re amazing!
‘Refreshments’ banner.
Beverage & Cake Table
Mommy’s family helped out so much with this party – it wouldn’t have gotten done without them! Izzy’s grandma made the punch, and her great-grandma baked & decorated the cakes!
Little man definitely approved of the punch {and the zebra cakes…}!
Fun Photos
Seriously…a ruffled romper + that cute face = too cute for words!
She loves me! The husband thought Izzy looked less than thrilled in this picture, so I had to throw in the second photo to prove that she loves me and was just sleepy!
While we were cleaning up, the hubs thought it would be funny to tie all the balloons together and hook them under the kids’ arms. They all chased each other around the empty room and I couldn’t stop laughing: it was like they were trying to fly away!
After the party, the new family got some beautiful family photos taken.
Thanks so much for checking out the details of my Pink Safari Party…I hope you enjoyed. Keep coming back, because over the next few weeks I will be sharing tutorials on everything! {Or, better yet, subscribe in the sidebar to get e-mail updates from me}.
